This is a photo of a small portion of the damage the earth quake caused
But all hope is not lost for the people of Haiti. there are many groups of people trying to help Haiti including the United States who, on September 21, signed 2 memorandums stating that they would help to get Haiti back on track.Haiti_Doctor.jpgOne of the memorandums stated that they would create a clothing manufacturing plant that would result in more than 10,000 jobs for the Haitian citizens. The other states that they will recreate Port-au-Prince's University Hospital, which used to be the countries number one teaching hospital, in hopes of getting more certified doctors to the affected area. However the government is not the only one trying to help Haiti. Twitter auctioned the chance to receive a tweet from a celebrity. The auction raised over $220,000. The winners received a message from the celebrity, the celebrity would re-tweet one of their messages, and the celebrity would follow them. The celebrities included MC Hammer, Alicia Keys, and Cher. While most people think that Haiti is doomed it still has hope. The countries ravaged farmland are slowly recovering, but it is faster than anyone predicted. Even though the farms are recovering the country will still need to import 700,000 tons of food. The countries people are also recovering, although slowly. As evidence the country is having its first election since the earthquake on November 28.
